The Barbour County Community Foundation is the fruition of a dream. Several local citizens, knowing that life in Barbour County could be improved for all, pooled their expertise, energy, and time to create this philanthropic body. The Corporation, finalized in January of 1997, has attained rights of perpetual existence.

The mission of the Barbour County Community Foundation is to build a better life for the citizens of Barbour County in work, play, and retirement. This young foundation has given grants in education, health services, arts, recreation, and beautification. For these purposes, the Barbour County Community Foundation (BCCF) accepts gifts which are deposited in perpetual trust funds and administered by a bank trust department.  Only the income will be spent; the principal will remain in tact. The BCCF is committed to building legacies for the future.
